Jeffrey A. Stone, D.O., M.P.H., FCCWS
Dr. Stone is the Medical Director for the Hyperbaric Medicine Unit at the Institute for Exercise and Environmental Medicine at Texas Health Presbyterian Dallas and The Wound Center at Medical City Dallas.
A past president and vice president of the Texas Affiliate of the American Diabetes Association, Dr. Stone received his medical degree from the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific and a Master of Public Health from Harvard University. He completed a residency in aerospace medicine and a fellowship in hyperbaric medicine and wound care at the U.S. Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine at Brooks Air Force Base. Dr. Stone also started and developed the Army's hyperbaric medicine program. He is certified in hyperbaric medicine and board certified aerospace medicine. He is a Diplomate of the American Academy of Wound Care Management, and a Certified Wound Specialist. He has published articles on hyperbaric oxygenation, decompression sickness, the diabetic foot and other wound issues. He is both an avid pilot and scuba diver.
He serves as hyperbaric consultant to the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Dallas, Texas; Poison Control Center of North Dallas; Department of Health and Human Services Office of General: Office of Evaluation and Inspections, and to companies in the health insurance industry. He also serves as Senior Medical Examiner for the Federal Aviation Administration. Dr. Stone is also available for peer reviews, legal reviews, and medical malpractice reviews.
John Touhey M.D., MPH
He completed a residency in Aerospace Medicine through the US School of Aerospace Medicine at Brooks AFB , TX . His MPH is from UCLA School of Public Health. He had many assignments in the Air Force including command of medical facilities at Hill AFB , UT and Norton AFB, CA. He served as Chief of the Aerospace Medicine Consultants Division, Office of the AF Surgeon General. He completed a fellowship in Hyperbaric Medicine at the School of Aerospace Medicine and served as Chief of the Hyperbaric Medicine Division at the School of Aerospace Medicine .
He held the position of Clinical Associate Professor, University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio , TX and Adjunct Assistant Professor of Preventive Medicine and Biometrics at Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS). Dr. Touhey is Board Certified in Aerospace Medicine by the American Board of Preventive Medicine and is a Fellow of the Aerospace Medical Association. He is a member of the Society of US Air Force Flight Surgeons having served that organization as both president and treasurer. His military awards include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal and the Air Medal. He also serves as Senior Medical Examiner for the Federal Aviation Administration.
Laurie Aten M.D., MPH
Dr. Laurie A. Aten is board certified in Family Practice and Aerospace Medicine. She graduated from medical school at UNMC in Nebraska in 1980. She completed her Family Medicine residency and practiced in Lincoln , Nebraska until entering her aerospace medicine residency at Wright State University in Dayton , Ohio . She received her Masters in Aerospace Medicine in 1990 and received her board certification in 1994.
Dr. Aten went to the University of Alabama-Huntsville and did a fellowship and in Aerospace Medicine and Family Medicine. She served as the medical director for the development of the space station water reclamation system for NASA in Huntsville . She was an assistant professor for family medicine at the University of Alabama and the Director for the Consortium of Space Life Sciences. In 1993 she moved to Houston and became a Medical Officer and Senior research scientist at NASA-Johnson in the Biomedical Research and Operations branch. She worked on the Shuttle-Mir project and the environmental requirements for the International Space Station. She worked as the medical liaison with the Russians and U.S. engineers in developing the environmental systems for ISS.
In 1996 she left to practice full-time emergency medicine. In 2003 she became the Medical Director for the Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Unit of the NWTH Wound Care Center and Hyperbaric Clinic in Amarillo , Texas . She continued in this capacity doing wound care and hyperbaric oxygen treatment until joining Wound Care Consultants in the summer of 2005.
Rodney Lindsay M.D.
Dr. Rodney Lindsay graduated from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas in 1994. He then went on to serve in the United States Air Force at Beale AFB in California where he practiced primary care as well as directed the Primary Care Clinic, Allergy Clinic and Ambulance Services Department on base. Dr. Lindsay returned to Dallas in 2000 to practice full scope family medicine including obstetrics prior to settling into a nursing home only group practice the following year. Since that time Dr. Lindsay has nurtured a passion for wound care within the nursing home and has been the physician of choice for wound care needs of patients in 10 metroplex nursing homes. Dr. Lindsay continues to serve as a Major in the US Air Force Reserves and was recently recommended for promotion to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Dr. Lindsay enjoys reading, cooking, and wine collecting in addition to his passion for treating wounds.
